Keep your purchases private
Your card number is never stored on your device. And because your card details are never shared by Apple or sent to merchants when you use Apple Pay, it is a safer and more private way to pay. With Apple Pay, instead of using your actual debit card numbers, when you add your card, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored in a dedicated chip inside the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. When you make a purchase, the Device Account Number, along with a transaction-specific dynamic security code, is used to process your payment.
Since you don’t have to show your credit or debit card, you never reveal your name, card number, or security code to the cashier when you pay in a store. This additional layer of privacy helps ensure that your information stays with you.
Setup is simple with Wallet
Wallet already stores your boarding passes, tickets, rewards cards, and more. With Apple Pay, it can store your debit cards too. To get started, you can add your debit card from your iTunes account to Wallet simply by entering the card security code.
Add more cards on iPhone within the Wallet app. Just tap the plus sign and follow the onscreen instructions. On iPad, start by opening Settings, tap “Wallet & Apple Pay,” then tap “Add Credit or Debit Card.” For Apple Watch, open the Watch app on your iPhone, tap “Wallet & Apple Pay,” then tap “Add Credit or Debit Card.”
Payments Made Easy
To pay, just hold your iPhone near the contactless reader with your finger on Touch ID. Or you can double-click the Home button when your iPhone is locked to access Wallet and quickly make your purchases. To pay with Apple Watch, just double-click the side button on your Apple Watch and then hold it near the contactless reader. A gentle tap and beep confirm that your payment information was sent.

If your iPhone or iPad is ever lost or stolen, you can use Find My iPhone to quickly put your device in Lost Mode to suspend Apple Pay, or you can wipe your device clean completely.
